tipjar.jpgScratchback.com is an online “tipping” system (or as they like to call it, a fancy-schmancy tip jar). It allows you, the blogger, to accept tips and “give back” links or images in return on your blog or website.

Born from people complaining about services such as BlogRush just not providing the relevant traffic they were supposed to. ScratchBack (created by the online marketing veteran, Jim Kukral) has made this very easy to set up system thats free and places a widget (See mine in the sidebar) that means you can accept tips to your paypal account.

What other people are saying ;

“It’s basically an online tip jar where friends and fans of a blog or site can make a donation, and in addition to good karma, they get a text or image ad that appears in the widget.”

scratch-back.jpgScratchback enables me to offer cheap, Google-friendly advertising as a reward for tips, and the income is definitely better than depending upon ‘ad-cents’ on a tech-related blog. That amounts to a win-win for everyone, in my opinion.”
- Dazzlin Donna, SEO-Scoop.com

“Scratchback is like text link ads but you can use text links or images.They say that google will not Penalize you for using Scratchback on your blog.It’s like blogrush widget but you sell text links or images in this wedget.Scratchback is for all sites it will make you some extra cash.”

“If you’re after media exposure, however, and if the text link ads that you deal with make use of nofollow, or javascript, or other ways that do not attempt to gain a search engine advantage, then try the TopSpots widget from Scratchback.”

  1. Hey Milt,
    Good blog you’ve got going here. I appreciate the information on ScratchBack. It looks to be an interesting option to BlogRush.

    Thanks,
    Peggy

  2. Thanks Peggy,
    To be honest, I’m really not sure about this. The more people I speak to who tried these sort of “tip jars” before say that there not worth it. I worry that it gives a feeling of cheapness or desperateness.
    I’m still undecided. I need more info.

    Milt.
